“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”  II Timothy 2:15
 
 
Adoption:

Regeneration begins the new life when a soul is born again by the Holy Spirit.  Eph. 2:14     Regeneration is a changed nature. II Cor. 5:17
 
Justification deals with a new attitude by God toward a sinner.  Eph. 2:11-22.  Justification is a new standing before God.  Luke 18: 13-14
 
Adoption admits man into the family of God. Gal. 4:7.  Adoption is a changed position.  John 1:12
 
The Meaning of Adoption:   (the placing of a son)
 
Webster: The taking and treating of a stranger as one’s own child.
 
Rom 8:15 – “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba Father.”
Eph. 1:5 – “Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will.”
 
The time of Adoption:
 
Past: Rom. 9:11 – “(for the children being not yet born, neither having done any               good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)”
 
Present: I John 3:2 – “Beloved, now are we the sons of God and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.”
 
Future: Rom. 8:23 – “And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.”
 
The sign of Adoption:
 
Led by the Spirit.
Rom. 8:14 -  “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”
 
The cry of Adoption:
 
Rom. 8:15 -  “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, wherby we cry Abba Father.”
Mark 14:36 -  “and he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.”

Objects of God’s love:  John 17:23
Objects of God’s care:  Luke 12:27-33
Family name:                 I John 3:1
Family likeness:             Rom. 8:29
Family love:                   I John 3:14
Father’s chastisement:   Heb. 12:5-11
Father’s comfort:           II Cor. 1:4
Father’s inheritance:      I Peter 1:4
 
Conclusion: Gal 3:36 -  “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”
